Cabinetry
Our cabinetry is designed to hold its own as a statement piece, not disappear into the background.
Built from solid British hardwood carcasses, precisely joined and hand-finished, with brass hardware from Optimum Brasses. Both are made to order and can be sized to fit an alcove, hallway or kitchen exactly.
How to Choose
Both the Thorne Chest of Drawers and the Farrow Cabinet solve the same problem, a considered piece for an alcove or a standalone spot in any room, the real difference is drawers versus doors. The Thorne's open slab drawer fronts let the timber itself be the main event, nothing applied or decorative competing for attention. The Farrow's panelled Shaker doors give a slightly more traditional feel, with configurable interior shelving suited to crockery, serving dishes, or whatever needs a defined space rather than a drawer.
Interior configuration, drawer dividers and shelf spacing can be adjusted to fit exactly what's being stored, and since both are made to order, sizing to fit an alcove, hallway, kitchen or any other room precisely is never a constraint either way.
Our Approach
Cabinetry carries different structural demands to a table or bench, doors that need to hang true for years, drawers that need to run smoothly under changing loads, and a carcass that needs to stay square even as the timber moves slightly with the seasons.
Both ranges are built from solid hardwood sourced from British sawmills wherever possible, worked through a combination of machine precision and hand-finishing to get there, with the functional needs met at every decision.
FAQs
What's the difference between the Thorne and Farrow?
The Thorne is a chest of drawers with slab drawer fronts letting the grain lead. The Farrow is a Shaker-style cabinet with doors and configurable interior shelving.
Can these be built to fit an alcove exactly?
Yes, both are made to order and can be sized precisely to fit an alcove, hallway, kitchen or any other given space.
How long does a made-to-order piece take?
Typically around 12 weeks from confirmation of your order, though this can vary depending on current workshop capacity. Get in touch to confirm our current lead times.
The Thorne and Farrow are designed as companion pieces to each other, see the full alcove case study, but equally suited to standing alone in any room of the house.
