Is in Wick, between Bristol and Bath on a farm shared with a handful of other rural makers and tradespeople. It's a well-used, well-loved space, home to furniture makers for over 20 years. Where every piece begins as raw timber and leaves as a finished piece of furniture, made entirely for you.

Design and joinery
Once a design is agreed, every piece is hand-built using traditional joinery, no flat-packing. Where a piece needs to travel through a tight doorway or up a narrow staircase, we can build in demountable joinery to make that easier. We use strong, considered fixings built for decades of use, without compromising on strength.

We work across precision machinery; spiral planers, micro-adjustable circular saws, through to hand-cutting dovetails with chisels and spokeshaves for shaping chamfers that catch the light, as on one of our Aldan loveseats.

Sourcing the timber
Every project starts with selecting the right piece of timber. We work with specialist sawmills to track down rare and unique British hardwood for each individual project and where possible, timber that would otherwise be burnt as firewood or chipped by local councils, rather than asking more of our woodlands than we need. Finishing
Every piece is finished with natural oils, chosen to bring out the character of the grain and protect the timber for decades of use, rather than a synthetic lacquer that dulls with time. It's practical, too, worn areas simply need a light sand and a re-oil, rather than a full strip and refinish, and it's a job you can easily do at home.
