The Story

This set started life as a styling project for the Orwin range, once the extending version existed, a fixed table and matching benches were built to photograph the design properly for the first time.

Once they were made, they were simply too good to photograph once and put away, so they went up for sale instead. Because all three pieces were built together rather than to separate orders, the grain and colour sit naturally alongside each other, the kind of match that's harder to guarantee when a table and its benches are commissioned months apart from different pieces of timber.

Both benches tuck fully under the table when not in use, useful in a dining space that also needs to work as a walkway or a multi-purpose room or just so everything can be neat and tidy!

Why Trew & Bold

Every piece at Trew & Bold is designed and made by Emily, from a workshop between Bristol and Bath, using timber sourced from British sawmills wherever possible. Nothing is mass-produced or flat-packed, this set is shaped through a mix of machine accuracy and hand-finishing, and finished with natural oils rather than a synthetic lacquer, so the timber's character stays visible rather than sealed away.

Is this made to order or ready now?

Will the table and benches match if I buy them separately instead?
This set was built together specifically so the grain and colour match naturally. Made-to-order pieces are matched as closely as possible, but as one-off pieces of timber, some natural variation is normal.

How is it delivered?
Delivery is arranged directly once your order is confirmed, with both standard courier and white-glove options available depending on your address.

The spalted silver birch tops mean each surface carries its own natural streaking, so while matched in timber and finish, no two pieces in the set look quite identical, each with its own character within the same design.
