The Story

Once the Orwin Table existed, a bench felt like the obvious next piece, not a separate design, but a natural extension of the same mid-century language, curves and proportions carried straight across.

Designed as a genuine alternative to a standard set of dining chairs, it suits homes where flexibility matters more than a fixed number of seats. The legs can be built to be removable, so it can store flat when not needed and come back out as spare seating for guests, without needing space for an extra chair sitting unused most of the year.

It pairs with either the Orwin Table or the Orwin Extending, so the same bench design carries through whether you're set up for everyday family meals or a longer table for entertaining.

Every piece at Trew & Bold is designed and made by Emily, from a workshop between Bristol and Bath, using timber sourced from British sawmills wherever possible. Nothing is mass-produced or flat-packed, every piece is built to order, shaped through a mix of machine accuracy and hand-finishing, and completed with natural oils rather than a synthetic lacquer, so the grain stays visible and the timber can breathe.
