The Story

The Calder Bench came directly from the table it sits alongside, sharing the same minimal footprint and chamfered detailing, built to complete a compact seating setup rather than exist as its own separate idea.

It suits spaces where every piece needs to earn its keep, a home office, a reading nook, or a slim spot that couldn't take a full-sized table and chairs. The legs can be made removable, so it can store flat against a wall or under a bed when the room needs clearing, a practical option for a smaller home.

The chamfered edge softens what would otherwise be a sharp line, kinder to shins and knocks in daily use, while the tapered legs stay visually light without losing strength.

Nothing is mass-produced or flat-packed, every piece is built to order, shaped through a mix of machine accuracy and hand-finishing, and completed with natural oils rather than a synthetic lacquer, so the grain stays visible and the timber can breathe.
